Botanical Prints at Bell Tower (September)

I am thrilled to partner with Bell Tower Brewing Co. and hope you will join me on their garden patio for my cyanotype printmaking workshop. In this workshop, students will create a series of their own cyanotype prints using flowers and other natural objects. Art prints make great gifts or ready-to-frame home decor. We will also discuss alternative uses for your prints, such as how to create stationery sets, postcards or gift wrap.

Cyanotype printing uses a special light-sensitive paper that when exposed to sunlight results in a unique, high-contrast indigo and white print. We will arrange flowers, greenery, and other natural objects to create our prints. If you choose, you are welcome to bring natural elements (such as flowers, leaves, etc) from your own garden to personalize your prints. All skill levels are welcome.

• 5 Sheets of 8" x 10" Photosensitive Paper
• Templates for Sizing Prints
• Guided Instruction
• 10% Off Hazelmade Products Offered at Pop-Up Shop

• Glass Plates for Exposing Prints
• Cardboard for Transferring Print Elements
• Speciality Clips for Securing Prints
• Access to a Rinse + Drying Station

Alternate Date:
This workshop is scheduled for Sunday September 15th. We use natural sunlight to process our prints. In the event of rain or other inclement weather, the alternate date of Sunday September 22nd will be used. Please make sure you are available for both dates prior to registering for the workshop. Any cancelations will be communicated by email within 24 hours of the workshop's start time. Questions? Please arrive 15 minutes early, class begins promptly at 1:30pm.

Food + Beverage:
Bell Tower offers an exceptional menu of food and and beverages. Beverage service will be available throughout the workshop. Belltower offers a 10% discount on their full food and beverage menu before or after class to workshop participants. Their kitchen opens at 12pm on Sundays!

Groups:
Please email info@shopHazelmade.com if you are attending with friends. We will create assigned seating and would like to seat your group together.

Accessibility:
The workshop will be held outdoors on the street level. We will utilize both picnic-style tables as well as bistro tables with chairs. The patio is gravel, but there is a concrete area adjacent that is wheelchair accessible and available to anyone with mobility needs. Please reach out if there is anything I can do to help make your attendance more comfortable.

COVID Policy:

Please reach out if you have questions or concerns; we aim to make this workshop a safe and welcoming space for everyone involved. The workshop will be held outdoors on the patio, which is separate from the brewery / restaurant areas.

Meet Your Instructor:
This workshop will be taught by Susan Hazel Rich, owner and illustrator behind Hazelmade. Susan received her BFA from Kent State University in Visual Communication Design and has continued education through KSU’s printmaking and art department. Susan’s background in graphic design supplies a love of typography, clean lines, and simple design. Susan’s passion for organic shapes, floral designs, and vintage themes is seen through her work under Hazelmade. Susan enjoys teaching in all settings, from workshops in her studio or community, to her partnerships with her alma mater as an adjunct professor across many disciplines.

Cancellation Policy:

Low Registration:
Sometimes a workshop will need to cancel due to low registration. We will send an email to notify you that this is a possibility prior to cancellation. If a workshop has to be canceled, you will get an email at least 24 hours in advance. Low registration cancellations will result in either an alternate date, a refund, or a credit valid for future workshops.
