My New Wild Blooms Greeting Card Collection

This past year, I explored a lot of trails around my Northeast Ohio home. I was captivated by the wildflowers that bloomed throughout spring, summer and fall and I found myself sketching them once I had gotten home.

When I draw plants, I normally find myself valuing the shape and movement of my drawings more than botanical accuracy. But with these wildflower sketches, I challenged myself to embrace their true form: I wanted to capture the flowers just as I had seen them along the trails. I relied on pictures and videos I had taken of each wildflower and additional research through my county's park district website. This project resulted in a meadow of new greeting cards, perfect for spring. Scroll to see some of my favorites.
