Caring for Your Tea Towels

Machine Washable
Yes, you can machine wash my towels! Hazelmade tea towels will keep their color in the washer because I heat set the inks. I took an extra step in the printing process to prevent my ink colors from fading over time. Use cold water and a mild detergent to further extend their lifetime.
Dryer Friendly
My towels are printed on a pre-shrunk 100% cotton flour sack. This means the towels will not excessively shrink in the dryer. You'll find that the dryer actually helps to naturally soften them over time. Always use a low to medium setting to extend the life of your fabrics.
Stain Releasing
When selecting the fabric for my towels, I chose a true flour sack cotton, which is a fabric with a diamond-shaped weave. This weave makes my towels very absorbent and also helps them easily release stains.
Better with Age
Because I chose to heat set my inks to ensure that colors won't fade over time, my towels may feel stiff at first. But with each use, wash and dry, you will feel my towels soften over time. Everything from flexing the fabric to wiping up spills to the detergents used in your kitchen will help to soften the towel.
From the inks used in the printing process to weave patterns in the fabric itself, longevity was top of my mind as I designed my tea towels. I've also personally tested my towels' quality by using, washing and drying them in my own home. I'm proud to say my towels are designed to be used and to last.
