(This workshop took place in September 2019)

I'm very excited to begin offering workshops and classes in partnership with local shops + education venues in my community.

In addition to Hazelmade, I am also a guest educator and lecturer at Kent State University School of Visual Communication Design for topics ranging from graphic design, marketing, to typography. I have completed several courses in the MFA program at KSU for Printmaking. I love being part of the classroom and look forward to these workshops as a way to blend my creative passions with teaching and learning.

I'm starting things off right with a workshop which combines 2 of my loves; botanicals and printmaking. I learned about cyanotypes while studying printmaking at KSU and instantly fell in love. Cyanotype is a photographic printing process which uses objects or negatives, to block out areas of light sensitive, coated paper which when exposed to sunlight develops an image.

In this workshop we will use pre-treated, professional grade sheets to expose images students create by arranging supplied flowers, greenery, and other natural objects. We will discuss a range of available techniques and methods for this versatile printing technique.

This workshop will be held at Lovely Somethings, an Akron, Ohio based paper + gifts shop. We'll gather in this inspiring space to create prints together and enjoy this perfectly curated space of all things paper, home and creative.
